Design Rationale
The design rationale for the print advertisement is about using neutral and earthy tones in order to keep a simple and serene color scheme. The primary color used in the silhouette is a cool brown. A darker blue is used for the headline while a lighter blue is used for the background, this creates readability and a nice contrast. The silhouette layout allows the potential clients to feel the connection between the girl and the horse. This layout displays how Ride with Pride enables students to interact with the horses and improve skills development. For the headline alliteration and analogy was used, “Thoroughbred and Therapist” both begin with a “TH” sound. The Dejanire font family was used throughout the advertisement, the headline is regular, the subhead is regular italic, and the body copy is light.

Design Rationale
The media rationale for the print advertisement took the form of an advertisement in the magazine Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine. This magazine acts as a guide for the most favorable outdoor activities within the Blue Ridge area (Ritter, 2023). Activities within this magazine include rafting, biking, hiking, fishing, and much more. This magazine was chosen for the print advertisement because it reaches the target audience that Ride With Pride aims to message while falling under the same category the other services being promoted are in. Ride With Pride targets individuals within the Shenandoah Valley looking for a nearby activity to heal their mental well-being while connecting with nature.
